Welcome to our web site, I have traveled all over the world for over 40 years and have gained a lot of knowledge about people and their cultures. It would be rare to mention a country I have not worked in or visited. I was a private consultant for many of those years and worked for some of the biggest corporations both foreign and domestic. I have lived in Europe, Asia, Africa, Mexico, Central America, South America and India to mention a few. I especially have a great deal of respect for the people of the Peoples Republic of China.
Myself, I am an American Indian and a dedicated member of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma. My Daughter Dawn Dee and I started Choctaws cane and Stick Company and now we have renamed the company to Mc Alvain’s carved wood sticks and wood canes.
I am a Korean War Vetran and served honorable in the United States Navy, after the war I flew airplanes and worked at other jobs until I studied to be a master Gun Smith. There I gained a vast knowledge about different kinds of wood and how to make some of the most fashionable gunstocks from all kinds of wood.
When I was in the Jungles I saw some of the most primitive people in the world carving some of the most beautiful pieces of art I had ever seen and with the crudest tools. It was amazing to see how talented those people were.
Knowing the background behind all of this artwork and having a great understanding of the trade we decided to bring some of these pieces to the market so our customers could enjoy the beauty, and as for the canes and sticks, give our customers a little help to get around with. We only provide the strongest pieces made to last a lifetime and still have a beautiful piece of wood to show off.
We have standing orders from all over the world to bring you something to talk about and show off.
We also will bring to market all kinds of carved wood goods such as animal’s birds, bird feeders and figurines, all made from wood of course. And most all hand carved and hand finish |
